Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose
A dramatization of this story was first performed in a neighbour's garden in 2007. It was later part of the first Broadway Arts Festival in Broadway, Worcestershire, in 2010. The next year a concert version was a hit at the Elora Festival and became the first of a yearly series of shows at this outstanding summer music festival in Elora, Ontario. |
Unsinkable!
For the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, this musical show was a popular favourite. The stories of some of the passengers on the legendary liner were conveyed by actors, while musicians and singers performed the music of the period --from the Irish songs of the lower decks to a chilling 'Nearer My God to Thee' during the ship's final moments. At a special 'Last Dinner on the Titanic' gala evening at Toronto's Casa Loma, the show helped raise money for the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. |
Crowning Glory
All the splendour of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II was recalled in this special concert performance performed for the 60th anniversary in 2013. With brass fanfares, the choir sang 'Zadok the Priest' and 'I Was Glad' while the events in Westminster Abbey played out on a giant screen. The narration conveyed the excitement of the day through the recollections of those who were there. |
